About ICSE & ICSE Syllabus
ICSE stands for Indian Certificate of Secondary Education and yes Indian school certificate examination council conducts icse examinations. Private candidates cant appear for ICSE exams. In ICSE exams or ICSE Syllabus, students have to study 7 subjects and these are divided in 3 parts. Part one consist all the compulsory subjects it consist English, then History, Civic, Geography (one Civics and history combined paper and one geography) and forth subject of this groups is a combination of language and literature paper.Now in second groups there are several papers available for the students and they have to select any of two from the list. The papers are as follows: Math, Science, Economics, Commercial studies, modern foreign language, agriculture science, environment science, technical drawing and classical language. So students have a list of subject to choose their favorite two. But normally student likes to select science and mathematics. Further science is the combination of Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
The last group is group 3rd which again have a list of subjects for the students and just one need to be selected. These list consist subjects: Computer Application, commercial application, economics application, a modern foreign language, home science, fashion designing, yoga, physical education, art and performing art, environmental application and technical drawing application. The main benefit of this certification is that the certificate issue by this council is accepted by most of the international university, it means it certificate has international equivalence. ICSE examinations are conduced for 10th class. The council was formed in the year of 1958. The medium of teaching in ICSE is English.
